Exercise Referral This is a specific and formalised programme whereby a medical professional refers a person to a supervised exercise regime. The aim is to improve and maintain the health and mental well-being of inactive adults who are at risk of developing chronic disease. Some examples of suitability to exercise referral is if you have a neurological condition (e.g. parkinson’s disease), osteoporosis, diabetes, obesity, high cholesterol or you are pregnant.
